Reception on the occasion of the National Day and the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Serbia at the Sheraton Hotel, April 27, 2026

After the intonation of the anthems of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Türkiye, Ambassador Aca Jovanović welcomed the attendees with his speech, in which he addressed key aspects of bilateral relations, highlighting the positive dynamics of political dialogue, the historical overview of cooperation, and the growing economic exchange. The gathered guests were once again informed about the holding of the Specialized Exhibition EXPO27 in Belgrade, from May 15 to August 15, 2027.

The guest of honor at the Serbian reception in Ankara was the Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz, who also addressed the attendees. In his speech, among other things, he spoke positively about the meeting he held with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut, on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomatic Forum in April this year, as well as about the numerous potentials for cooperation between the two countries that were identified during the meeting in question. The Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye also announced the successful participation of his country in the Specialized Exhibition EXPO27 in Belgrade.

In addition to the special guest, the reception was also attended by the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Kadir Özkaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs H. Ali Özel, and Deputy Minister of Defense Bilal Durdalı, representatives of the diplomatic and defense attaché corps in Ankara, members of the diaspora, and other distinguished guests.
