Promotion of the Turkish edition of the book ‘Hamam Balkania’, written by Serbian author Vladislav Bajac, was held tonight in the Residence of the Serbian Ambassador, in the presence of the author.
More than 70 guests were present at this event, including high officials from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey (deputy minister and special envoy of the minister), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the deputy Director of TIKA, the Secretary General of the Prime Ministry’s Undersecretariat for EU, representatives of the Prime Minister’s Press and Information Office, diplomatic core, Ankara universities and cultural and media institutions of Ankara.
Ambassador Spasojević expressed his great pleasure to host this event which was of special importance for the promotion of Serbian culture in Turkey and stressed the fact that the promotion of the first book of Serbian contemporary literature translated into Turkish would be a great contribution for the development of Serbian-Turkish cultural cooperation.
The Ambassador emphasized that the development of cultural cooperation represents the most important bridge in the cooperation of two countries.
The Author, Mr Vladislav Bajac read segments from his book and answered questions which were posed not only about ‘Hamam Balkania’, but about culture in Serbia and cultural ties between Serbia and Turkey as well.
The promotion of the book ‘Hamam Balkania’ was held in the Carigan Palace in Istanbul on June 6, 2011, in the presence of Ambassador Spasojević and Consul General Prcović.
