Bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Turkey
The Republic of Serbia places a special importance on the development of bilateral relations with the Republic of Turkey as one of the most important countries in this part of the world.
The high-level political dialogue that has been developed between the two states aims to further promote and enhance bilateral and regional cooperation. In this regard, the two countries have set trilateral mechanisms with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Spain. The goal of trilateral mechanisms is to invest efforts into strengthening peace and stability in the region and supporting processes of democratisation, tolerance and comprehensive cooperation in the region of the Western Balkans.
The Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Turkey also cooperate closely within numerous regional organisations and initiatives.

Bilateral relations in a number of other fields have also seen a marked development and they continue to grow and improve in many fields particularly economic cooperation following the signing of a Free Trade Agreement which came into force in September 2010. and removal of visa regime since December 2010. In the first eight months of 2011, there is a increase of Serbian export to Turkey of 250% due to implementation of FTA.
