Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defence Dr Tanja Miscevic paid a two-day Official Visit to The Republic of Turkey.
Cooperation in the field of defense between Serbia and the Republic of Turkey is increasing and this trend should continue to both countries’ interest, as the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defence Dr Tanja Miscevic and Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, Lieutenant General Umit Dundar both agreed during bilateral defense consultations held in Turkey on the 15th February 2012.
During the talks special emphasis was placed on the importance of Turkey's involvement in the project by converting the military airport 'Morava' near the city of Kraljevo into a civil airport.
This year, the cooperation will take place principally through the exchange of high level visits, Special Forces exercises, training and continuation of projects initiated in the previous period. Both sides agreed on the importance of further improving cooperation in military economy and military technical cooperation.
During her visit to Turkey, Secretary of State Miscevic met with Deputy Under Secretary of the Ministry of Foreing Affairs, Ambassador Mehmet Fatih Ceylan, as well as representatives of the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) of the Republic of Turkey.
Furthermore, Secretary of State Miscevic gave a lecture at the prestigious Institute for Economic Policy of Turkey on prospects and challenges of Serbia and the Balkan countries in the process of European integrations
