Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic received today a farewell call from the Ambassador of Turkey Tanju Bilgiç, whom he thanked for his active engagement during his tenure in our country and wished success in further work.
Selakovic said that he was pleased with the level of bilateral relations, mutual cooperation based on trust and respect, which was further affirmed during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as with the intensive political dialogue between Serbia and Turkey.
The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of excellent personal and professional relations between the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, which were significantly contributing to the development of political, economic and all other relations between our two countries.
"We are also looking forward to continuing the exchange of visits at the high and top level", Selakovic said, emphasizing that there was an open invitation to his Turkish counterpart, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, to visit Serbia.
Minister Selakovic underlined in particular the importance of the infrastructure project to be carried out with the financial assistance of Turkey, namely the Belgrade-Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway, as well as of the cooperation with Turkey on the construction of energy infrastructure. "We welcome Turkey's growing interest in investing in the Serbian economy, as well as the realization of a number of investments in less developed parts of Serbia", the Minister said, stressing Serbia's commitment to further improving economic cooperation with Turkey.
