Next, the audience was addressed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Turkey, Aca Jovanović, who in his speech emphasized the importance and uniqueness of bilateral ties, since diplomatic relations were established in 1878.
Regarding the current level of cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Türkiye, Ambassador Jovanović referred to the results of the successful visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Belgrade in October 2024, while expressing satisfaction with the dynamic bilateral economic cooperation, which is recording exponential growth. At the same time, he underlined the interest of our side in the earliest possible start of work of the Department of Serbian Language at the universities in Istanbul and Ankara.
Ambassador Jovanović also announced that Serbia will host the Specialized Exhibition EXPO27 in Belgrade, which will be held under the theme "Game(s) for Humanity: Sport and Music for All", expressing gratitude that the Republic of Türkiye was among the first countries in the world to confirm its participation in this event.
The guests were also addressed by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, and the reception was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, and the Deputy Minister of Defence, Musa Heybet.
